Prepared Pilot, LLC was founded in 2005 by Rob Hunter to provide the best survival kits and emergency equipment to aviators. All the equipment you find on this site has been field tested by pilots. Our survival kits and equipment have been used on flights around the world and all over the world. They are used by civilians, missionaries, adventurers, Aeromedical teams and military. Rob Hunter has been practicing wilderness survival skills for over 20 years. As a pilot and FAA Aviation Safety Counselor who has flown over 1000 hrs in the past 5 years primarily in mountainous and backcountry areas he understands the unique needs of pilots.

Rob has been a paid and volunteer member of four different search and rescue teams in the mountain West from 1990-2004 and knows what it takes to be found alive. Rob worked as an EMT and paramedic for 14 years and knows about emergency medicine. With specialty training in wilderness medicine and experience on SAR teams he is very familiar with what types of injuries kill people in remote areas and treatment priorities.

Rob has taught wilderness survival skills to air medical helicopter crews and to Federal Emergency Medical Assistance teams. He has lectured on aviation survival kits and related topics for the FAA, aviation interest groups and college flight schools throughout the mountain west. He has taught wilderness medicine to search and rescue teams, aviation groups, college outdoor leaders, and to medical students.
